MAYDS Counselling Services

Lynn's initial counselling training included a specialism in therapy for children and young people This allowed Lynn to offer a variety of different therapies which include play and narrative therapy to pre school and primary aged children.

Lynn is well versed in working with trauma experienced children and young people offering support and a confidential safe space.

Lynn is undergoing training in 2024 which will focus on families and groups.

MAYDS is more aware than ever, of the need for family therapy to be available locally. This has been identified through the work we do with children, parents, schools and agencies such as social work, etc..

Lynn undertook a two year part time diploma in relational counselling, beginning in 2019. MAYDS aim was to offer a service to local parents that they were unable to get elsewhere. Lynn supports parents through personal issues that they are struggling with. This is often in conjunction with their children being engaged in school counselling.

Lynn trained with The National Centre for Eating Disorders (NCFED) and completed a Master Practitioner programme in 2023. This qualification recognises Lynn's ability to work with all forms of E.D.'s and obesity. Lynn is a registered member of the NCFED. Lynn has monthly supervision with her E.D. supervisor to ensure she is working ethically and to a high level. Lynn attends regular CPD to ensure her knowledge is current.

Lynn is able to offer counselling to more than one person as she is relationally trained. Lynn works with couples, parents or a parent and child, siblings, friends, etc.. Therapy is based on the  individual people that present for counselling with no judgement or prescriptive direction. Sessions are fluid and built upon the need identified.

Lynn, MAYDS in house counsellor has under gone comprehensive training, which began in 2018. Lynn is a relational integrative counsellor, who has experience in working with a wide range of issues. Lynn attends clinical supervision and E.D. supervision monthly & group supervision quarterly.
